Zane, Frosting and Doggies

Zane, enjoyed eating the sugar cookie with frosting on it, but he was a little messy. Then he realized that the dogs like to help clean him up. He thought this was a great idea. He would let them lick him and then laugh! This of course made us laugh, it was contagious.

Zane, just one of the babies!

I couldn't resist. Kids do the funniest things. So Tami and Zane were visiting me, and Zane decided that he was going to play in the Dog Kennel. I took a picture of him in the kennel, and then asked him to get out of the kennel, and I took a very cute picture of him.

Doggie Nails

So Rachel and I do a doggie routine sometimes, and we do the dog's nails, ears, teeth and a bath. Here is the first time Rachel is using the Pedi-paws for Kamalani's nails. I laughed so hard, because it looks like the dog is scared for her life. Then poor Bonnie is there for moral support! LOL

Yeah.. There is a light at the end of the Tunnel.

OK. I know that it is a miracle that I am even posting since I haven’t in almost two months. Needless to say things have been really crazy busy, but I am looking forward to it calming down a little. Starting the weekend after Thanksgiving, I will be down to only working one job, the Hospital and back to school full-time. I know that is still crazy but nothing like it has been.

I hopefully will be able to have a little time to keep up on my blogging, and I haven’t been able to scrapbook for about 8 months, so it will be nice to do a little of that as well. The babies are looking forward to me quitting also. LOL They love it when Mommy stays home with them.

I’ll keep you posted and hopefully updated more frequently now.

I CAN SEW!!!! Kinda

So, the only time I've ever sewed anything in my life has been with my Mother's help, or it has gone horribly wrong. Basically it is my fault, those of you who know me, know my patience are thin. I just didn't have the patience before. So I have decided to start off easy. Of course it was for the babies. I made a little dog bed, and the babies LOVE it!

Doggie Daze!!

I know people already think I'm a little crazy, but this will probably make people think I am a nut, but at least I won't be alone, because Tami, Rachel and Jaime helped me with the pics. About twice a year I torture my babies and make them dress up and take funky pictures and this was one of those days. Hope you all enjoy!! There are a few of them.

Grizzy is Jaime's baby. Blondie
Maddy is Tami's baby. Black and White
Bonnie is Nadine's. Black Tan min.pin
Clyde is Nadine's Black & Red min.pin
Kamalani is Rachel's Black and Red puppy

Tag...... You are it!

I don't usually do tags, but Manda had this one on her blog, and I really liked it so I put the first thing that came to mind. If anyone would like to Tag-a-long that would be great!

I am: Definitely a crazy person!

I know: That I am a Child of God, and that he loves me.

I want: To always have close relationships with my family.

I have: The two best dogs in the world.

I wish: I didn’t have to work two jobs.

I hate: Hmmmm. Hate is a strong word, not too many things I hate but I guesst those extra pounds on my body would be one.

I miss: Colorado

I fear: Spiders and Roaches. Gross!!

I hear: People talking…I am at work right now.

I smell: Nothing..but I love the smell of roses or carnations. Yumm.

I crave: It varies; there is not a whole lot I crave.

I search: For that eternal companion, the poor guy when I finally do
find him. LOL

I wonder: What happened to ALL that time that it seemed like you had when you
were about 8 years old. Now, it seems like I am always running out
of it.

I regret: Nothing- without the things that I have done and the mistakes that I
have made, I would not be the person that I am today….Hmmm. maybe I
need to rethink that huh. :o)

I love: My Heavenly Father, family, my babies (Bonnie and Clyde), friends,
scriptures, and many more things.

I care: About my family and friends

I always: Push myself to the limit.

I believe: In the Gospel.

I dance: Horribly, but I enjoy trying..maybe one day I will have rhythm, but
I won’t hold my breath.

I don't always: Say the most tactful things.

I fight: For whatever I feel is right.

I write: Letters once in a while, and cards.

I lose: Lately phase 10 teams… playing with the family.

I win: When I really want to get my way at something.

I never: Take time to smell the roses, but I am working on it.

I listen: To quite a few people, but then make up my own mind.

I need: Water, food, shelter…chocolate covered strawberries.

I am happy about: Life, the many blessings that I have been given.

I tag: Anyone who can take the challenge.

My Utah Trip

So, this was a trip I took to be able to hang out with some of my friends that I hardly get a chance to see very often. Rob and Kat and the girls I met when I was on my mission. They are one of the families that I have kept in contact with and we have become great friends. I try to visit about once a year.

We also went to the Weber County Fair while I was there. The girls were having a good time trying to win a fish. Then of course, the rides are always a good time. They had the steer competitions that we watched.

I always enjoy my visits to Utah. We love playing games, chatting, and just having fun hanging out.

I was excited this visit to be able to also see Becky Winter…..aka.. Sister Burtenshaw. I haven’t seen her since my mission. It was nice to catch up. It is amazing that it has been almost 10 years, and she doesn’t look like she has changed much except the color of her hair. She is still the same sweet, pretty Sister B.

OK.. New Receipe Take 2

Here is another one that is good with little prep time.

Easy Chicken Cordon Blue with Mushroom Sauce Recipe

35 min | 15 min prep

SERVES 6

6 boneless skinless chicken breasts
6 slices ham (I use old fashioned or honey)
6 slices swiss cheese
1 can mushroom soup (I really like Campbell's Golden Mushroom)
2 cups sour cream
1 cup fresh sliced mushrooms

Use a meat pounder to flatten the chicken breats.
Place 1 slice of ham and 1 slice of cheese in the center of each breast.
Roll up and place seam side down in a casserole dish.
Securing with a toothpick if necessary.
Bake, covered, for 20 minutes at 350 degrees or until the chicken is no longer pink and juices run clear.
While it is baking, mix together remaining ingredients.
Pour over cooked chicken and bake until sauce bubbles.
I usually serve this over egg noodles.

Tami's Perm Day

So, Tami had to beg me to give her a perm, she finally convinced me to do it. After four hours of back breaking perming and as Jaime would say, get this stinky stuff out of here. The perm looked great!!!!! Here are a couple of before and shortly after pictures of her perm. Talk about Medusa.

Picture Frames

So to relax a little, I enjoy stamping, making cards or some other project. One of my newest projects are creating frames. I have done them before, but it has been a while. I am really having some fun with these. I thought I would post a couple.

SCHOOL NEWS

So... new school news. As many of you know, Tami and I have been wanting to go into Ultrasound. Here in AZ, they are retarded and we have to be registered with a different occupation in order to go into Ultrasound even though it has nothing to do with it. For example if we were nurses, then we could go into Ultrasound even though nurses have nothing to do with Ultrasound. OK... long drawn out explanation. So the waiting list is so long, and Tami won't be able to go until 2010, so we decided instead of x-ray, we are going to start school to become Respiratory therapists first and then we will be able to go into the Ultrasound program. So it looks like in Dec. we will be going full-time back to school. Yeah and UGGGG.

Talk about Kissing a Belly Dump Truck.

So shortly after returning from Ireland, Tami and I were in my car. We were driving along, and all of a sudden a dump truck slams on his breaks, and we didn’t have time to react as quickly, and we slammed into his rear-end. Of course, my car is totaled after that kiss of death. We found out later, that apparently, there was a car in front of the dump trucks that had apparently missed his turn, and so with on coming traffic behind him, he decided to back-up to the street he missed. This is what caused the accident.

A side note: I was in the middle of moving the visor from the window, back to the front windshield when I noticed we were not going to make it and stopped. Let me tell you, I never thought it true before, but visors have teeth. Tami and I both ended up with many bruises and some achy muscles. I had to get a few stitches, but again nothing big. Thank goodness, we were both ok and fine, and baby Zane was not with us in the car. I know in this picture it looks like I could take first in a beauty pageant, but control your jealous feelings; the Bride of Frankenstein will come out to play later.

The Luck of the Irish!!!

Well, let’s just say that Mom and I were off to a good start. We got to the Phoenix Airport in plenty of time, checked our baggage, and decided to grab a bit before our long flights of the day. She took her meds to fly and we were all good.

We had got to Ireland, picked up our luggage, and headed to our bus. Boy did we ever look like tourists. We had no idea where we were going or how to get there, but we wanted to do it as cheap as possible. So we boarded a bus, talk about some scary drivers out there. If they can get their car through a little enough spot, they’ll do it. Then we were dropped off about a 10-minute walk from our hotel. Normally, this would not be a problem, but when you can’t find the street signs to tell you what street you are on, it is a little difficult to find your way. So during our walk we went through a little bit of a rough part of town….. not that I blame her, but I think Mom thought I was taking her to get mugged or to death row. Then, after a couple of nice guys helped us, we soon found our way to our hotel room.

Later that night, our first night in the hotel is when Mom decided to get sick. Poor thing ended up spending most of her trip getting real cozy with her bed.

She was finally feeling good enough to leave the hotel room one day, and we were able to go sightseeing together, which was fun. We did the Viking Splash tour. We saw the Dublin Castle. We went shopping for souvenirs. We had fun.

Although it might have been a little much for Mom, she ended up in bed again the next day. (She just must have really missed that bed :o)

On our way back into the country, it seemed like we were taking forever to get through customs. Then when we did get back to the Sky Harbor Airport, they lost our luggage, but at least we were coming home instead of going out. I think Mom had, had enough. Wow, what a trip!!!

I’ll try and get a couple of layouts done from the trip and post them as soon as I get a chance.

CHANGES!! CHANGES!! AND MORE CHANGES!!

OK. so things have been quite crazy as usual. I have been thinking and making a few changes in my life as of yet. First, starting in June, I've decided not to have anything to do with hotels for a long time. WOW!!! I bet no one thought I would actually mean it huh? I still don't think my family believes me either, but I NEED a break. It is amazing the difference in me when I work at the hospital (a job I love) compared to when I work at the hotel ( a job I hate) I think they are living with a Dr. Jeckle and Ms. Hyde.

Next change, I have believe it or not been trying to seriously loose a little weight, ok who are we kidding I would love to loose a lot of weight. So far I have lost and kept off 20 lbs. The additional 10 lbs keeps coming off and going back on. So, I have only been giving it about 35% effort, and starting June 1st...I am going to be giving it a 110%. I know everyone is probably saying why not start now, well.... I am so so so so excited to say that I am going to IRELAND!!! So I will not be focusing on it while I am gone, but I will definitely keep you all posted on my weight loss and fun trip info.

How we really feel about each other.

I just love the site Triple The Sketch! Here is a layout I did using their number 4 sketch. Everyone should take a look at this site. It is very inspirational, and the design team does a great job. Each week I look forward to seeing the next sketch!

Poor little Zane is probably thinking, "I can't believe I am related to these people!"

Family Layout

So as some of you know, we went and had a few family pictures taken, and I created a couple of layouts. Here is the Davis Family!
I will have to get better at taking these pictures and cropping them.

The Gizzy Story

OK... So of course you are going to see these pictures and then wonder what in the world we are doing to the poor dog. No we did not just put baby socks on her for pure entertainment. Here's the story........

So We love all of our dogs here at the compound, but Grizzy would have to be I would say the nuttiest. I'm sure everyone has heard of teasing their dogs with the laser light pens, well Jaime and Tami take that statement to a whole other level. Their dogs are literally obsessed with the "RED LIGHT". They will choose to chase it around the backyard instead of eating or anything else, and this is how Jaime has decided they need their exercise. Good idea.... we all thought at the time.

Well, after about a half hour I think of us out back watching the dogs chase the read light, we decided to come in. Only at that time did we notice that there was blood all over the place. We of course freaked out, because our dogs are like our babies. Upon inspection we found out that Grizzy had literally ran so much to chase the red light, that she ran her nails off; they were down to the pads of her paws poor thing. Needless to say, we will walk the dogs next time we want to give them a little more exercise.

Zane a ....Gammer Too!

There is no way on earth, with a Daddy like Jaime, that we could expect any different. Of course anything Daddy does, Zane will want to do it too! Aren't these just the cutest pictures of the boys?

Layout Inspired by Triple The Sketch

I love this new site, you all should check it out, http://triplethesketch.blogspot.com/ Patter Cross creates sketches and her design team creates layouts, card and extra for inspiration. Here is a layout that I did based off of Patter's 2nd Sketch.
